Okeanos has built relationships with many dive sites and is an avid supporter of propagation and hatcheries.

The Ecosystem

When a client wishes to purchase a custom aquarium or pond package, we begin with a consult from an Okeanos livestock expert in order to assist the client in choosing the most appropriate ecosystem for their desired setting. The process will begin with an in depth explanation of the various ecosystems. Some of the options include a freshwater cichlid system, of the great African lakes of Malawi, Tanganyika, or Victoria, a tranquil live planted aquarium with beautiful schools of Discus, Angelfish, Tetras, and Gouramis, a breathtaking coral reef with the most exotic specimens of hand-picked coral from various reefs around the world, or a fish-only aquarium - a mesmerizing experience stocked with Eels, Stingrays, Sharks, Angelfish, and Tangs. Our staff will provide all the information necessary for the client to make the most educated decision.

The Acclimation Process

When you become a client of Okeanos, you will notice our livestock experts’ proficiency and meticulous care for the inhabitants of the aquarium or pond. Each fish and coral is hand-picked and carefully transported to their destination by an Okeanos Livestock Expert. Once they arrive, the acclimation process begins. All the water parameters are tested in order to properly acclimate the fish or coral at the correct levels. Once they have acclimated, they will be placed in the aquarium or pond, and carefully watched to ensure they are healthy and happy in their new home. Because fish and coral are sensitive to minute changes in water parameters, proper acclimation is crucial to avoid stress when a species is introduced to a new environment. Incorrect acclimation is the leading cause of sickness among newly introduced species in aquariums and ponds.

Personal Concierge

Every Okeanos client is assigned a personal Livestock expert who is available at any time to answer questions and give advice. Additionally, Okeanos Emergency Response Technicians are on call 24/7, to ensure the safety of the livestock in the event of an emergency.
